Microbiology Co-op

POSITION PURPOSE

The Microbiologist Lab Tech Co-op assists the Lab Microbiologist & Engineers in the development of testing protocols & test equipment, conduct testing of product to written or research protocols and analyze/summarize results and learning Micro Lab prep techniques.  Focus to be on Hollow Fiber Membrane development.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Development of testing protocols

• Conduct testing and reporting of research data

• New Product Development

• Media Prep and Media Prep Techniques

  EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  Pursuing a 4 year degree in Microbiology or related Science

  JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Skill in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook

• Basic knowledge of Safe Lab Practice, hands-on experience in lab using aseptic technique

• Detail oriented and accurate

• Must have demonstrated the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and complete projects on schedule and on budget.

• Analyze, organize, and problem solve frequently and efficiently

• Ability to communicate status and actions effectively

• Ability to commit to 3 terms/semesters for the co-op
